I was recently interviewed on Ticker News about my endeavor with Gold Bug Stables, an NFT horse racing stable dedicated to breeding and caring for high value digital racehorses. I really enjoyed the opportunity to share some insight on the awesome new game, Zed Run, an online horse racing game that allows players to buy, sell, breed, and race digital horses which are represented by non-fungible tokens (NFTs). Below is a link to the interview.

As a follow-up to this interview, I would like to answer some commonly asked questions by people throughout the Zed Run community.

Are There Racing Limits In Zed Run?

You are currently limited to entering 3 paid races & 1 free races (4 races total) at any given time. This does not change regardless the number of horses in your stable.

Can Horses Get Injured? Do They Need To Rest?

At this point in time, there is no factor, or variable, for Zed Run horses that considers fatigue, aging, injury, or cooldown (rest). This means you have the ability to race your horses as frequently, or infrequently as you wish.

Are There Varying Track Conditions?

At this point in time, there is no factor, or variable, for Zed Run races that considers weather or track conditions that would result from such. This means all races that take place on Zed Run are taking place in favorable (“clear”) weather conditions. This may change as the game further develops; the games developers have already coded the necessary data into the horses.

Does The Gender Of Your Horse(s) Matter?

At this point in time, there is [allegedly] no difference between male (colts/stallions) and female (fillies/mares) horses in Zed Run. The same applies to the horses after they have been bred. There have been theories that some genders may perform better than others, though none have been proven to date.

What Are The Genders In Zed Run?

There are 4 total genders in Zed Run. Male horses are either colts or stallions. A colt is an unbred male and a stallion is a bred male. Female horses are either fillies or mares. A filly is an unbred female and a mare is a bred female.

How Often Can You Breed Your Horses?

You are currently limited to breeding male horses (colts/stallions) up to 3 times per month and female horses (fillies/mares) 1 time per month. At this point in time, you are unable to breed a horse until after its first month of “life”, which is determined by the horse’s mint date.

Can You Name Your Horse(s)?

You are currently able to name your horse in Zed Run, though only if you breed the horse yourself. Horses minted by the developers of Zed Run come pre-named. Once a horse has been given a name, it is unable to be re-named. After breeding, you are also given the ability to sell an unnamed foal, which allows the buyer to name their horse after purchasing it from you.

I hope that this article was helpful for all of you Zed Run enthusiasts and newcomers alike! This may be the first article I have published about the exciting digital horse racing game, though it surely will not be my last. In my personal opinion, this may be one of, if not the coolest investment opportunity in the realm of NFTs currrently. I recommend everyone to check out Zed Run if you have not done so already!
